Purchase, Lease-to-Buy, or Lease Options
Minimum Terms of Agreement
Purchase Contract:
Buyer pays agreed upon purchase price of horse.
Price must be paid in full before horse is removed from the premises of Westfield Farm LLC.
Lease-to-Buy Contract*:
Lease-to-buy agreement may not exceed 12 months from date lease-to-buy agreement is signed.
Purchase can be made anytime during the 12-month lease-to-buy period with no penalty.
Buyer and Westfield Farm LLC agree to purchase price and monthly lease fee.
Buyer pays agreed upon monthly lease fee on or before monthly due date established in the lease-to-buy agreement.
Monthly lease fee is not applicable to purchase price.
Lease fees paid in excess of total agreed upon lease fees at the end of the lease-to-buy period will be applied to the agreed upon purchase price when purchase is completed.
Purchase price must be paid in full before horse is removed from the premises of Westfield Farm LLC.
Lease Contract*:
Lease is for 1-year increments.
Lessee pays agreed upon monthly lease fee on or before monthly due date established in the lease.
Horse remains at Westfield Farm LLC.
*Conditions Applicable to Both Lease-to-Buy and Lease Contracts: Buyer/Lessee is responsible for all farrier expenses during term of the lease-to-buy or lease agreement.
Buyer/Lessee is responsible for all veterinary bills, farrier bills, or both, if the horse sustains injury as a result of negligence on the part of Buyer/Lessee, including applicable veterinary expenses, farrier expenses, or both, that extend beyond the end of the lease-to-buy or lease contract.
Westfield Farm LLC provides board, feed, vaccinations, dental, and worming care for the term of the lease-to-buy or lease period.
Trials prior to purchase, lease-to-buy, or lease contract are $55 per 1-hour lesson up to a maximum of 6 lessons; applicable to purchase price if purchased.
